Featuring the soulful vocals of Jeremiah Hicks and rich harmonies by Linda Charles, this dynamic track delivers a powerful message of faith and renewal, blending traditional gospel roots with a contemporary sound.
A fresh reimagining of The Gospel Clef's 1959 classic—originally written by Leon Lumpkins—this version honors its legacy while introducing a modern musical perspective. The project, executive-produced by Wheeler Winstead Jr., was brought to Kinard’s attention through Winstead’s deep appreciation for gospel’s timeless influence.
"This song is a simple prayer that the world needs right now to navigate the fast-changing landscape of our time. The journey within for a deeper connection to our creator is vital," says Kinard Cherry.
Backed by a stellar lineup of musicians, including Traves McGhee (drums), Steve McCoy (organ), and Kinard himself on lead guitar, acoustic guitar, and bass, "Open Our Eyes" showcases exceptional artistry and heartfelt spirituality.
